South Sea Horizons and the Bougainville Tourism Arts Culture Authority Team Up for Training
South Sea Horizons is partnering with the Bougainville Arts Culture Tourism Authority (BACTA) over ANZAC Day 2025 to begin training an enthusiastic group of 17 upcoming tour guides. The group will attend the Dawn Service at Bomana War Cemetery before heading off for a 2-day trek on the Kokoda Trail.
Saii Faole, our long time South Sea Horizons family member and Operations Manager established our Kokoda Landowners Company in 2008 and will be leading the training and trek, with the aim to share common knowledge about the Kokoda Trail, the history of Kokoda while also developing and building tour leadership skills.

The skills and lessons learnt will allow the group to transfer this knowledge to others, and help build and further grow the expanding tourism market in Bougainville.
This is an exciting opportunity for both South Sea Horizons and BACTA and we are looking forward to creating further opportunities for future tour leaders of Papua New Guinea.
